#OnTheTable in New York
This post features Momofuku Milk Bar, one of the many restaurants owned by David Chang, and also one of the restaurants I was DYING to visit while Chris and I were in NYC. I purchased the cookbooks for Milk Bar, Noodle Bar, Ssäm Bar, and Ko prior to our trip. What can I say, I was obsessed with everything Momofuku. If you knew anything about their menus, you’d understand why. They take ordinary food and spin it in unique ways to create delicious dishes that are normal enough to be accessible, but creative enough to remind you that they’re still top rated in NYC.
We got three cookies at Milk Bar - the cornflake chocolate chip marshmallow cookie, the compost cookie (which contained a mixture of all the ingredients from the other cookies), and the blueberry & cream cookie. They were all amazing. We also got a bagel bomb, which was good too, with its bacon scallion cream cheese interior and everything bagel exterior.
Then there was the cereal milk milkshake. It was my favorite of the night for one reason: the idea is genius. It pays homage to the milk that’s leftover at the bottom of cereal bowls. You know, the stuff that’s sweet and flavored by whatever cereal you were eating? In our case, the milkshake tasted exactly like frosted cornflakes. This is what I mean when I say they take the most simple ideas and turn them into innovative, and ultimately, delicious creations.
If you’re ever in NYC, a visit to Milk Bar is a must.
