Waffle Iron Hashbrowns
You guys, I made waffle iron hashbrowns! They turned out really well and it was so easy. Unless you make waffles every weekend, a waffle iron is one of those things that can end up sitting in the back of your cupboard collecting dust. It’s always nice finding different uses for kitchen appliances, and this is a great example!
Steps
1. Shred your potatoes using a box grater
2. Squeeze the shredded potatoes with your hands to get rid of the excess water, and add to a bowl
3. Add some melted butter, salt, pepper, and paprika, and mix well
4. Set the heat setting on your waffle iron to high and let it come up to temperature
5. Scoop some of the shredded potatoes into the iron until the inside is completely covered
6. Lower the lid and let it cook for about 10 - 15 minutes.
The best thing about using a waffle iron to make hashbrowns is that you don’t have to worry about flipping, as the iron crisps it up on both sides at the same time!
